Projects 2010

• Balkan Crossover, Budapest, Hungary

On 11th of March year 2010 in the concert hall “Bella Bartoc”, in the Hall of the Arts in Budapest, Hungary  was presented the premiere of the project Balkan Crossover. It is an international cultural musical project, which combines the sounds of Bulgarian folklore singing, organ and traditional Hungarian national instruments. The participants in this project are The Bulgarian Musical Society, represented from The Choir The Great Voices of Bulgaria with their conductor Ilia Myhailov, world–famous organ player Laslo Fashang and Balaj “Dongo“ Sokolai (bagpipe, pipe, saxophone). The message of the project says that the main thing in the joint making of music is the understanding of the different musical worlds and their match in one idea, in one new and original sound.

•The Bulgarian film – show of the movie about The Great Voices of Bulgaria

On the 14th of May, year 2010 in the Hall of the French Institute in Sofia was presented the Bulgarian first film – show of the MEZZO`s television movie about the choir of The Great Voices of Bulgaria. This project was supported by the Bulgarian Republic`s Ministry of Culture. The Bulgarian Musical Society and The French Institute were the hosts of this event. Special guests were the performers from the choir The Great Voices of Bulgaria with their conductor Ilia Myhailov, the producer of the movie Jeremy Rouzen and Academician Vasil Kazandjiev – honor chairman of the Bulgarian Musical Society. At the premiere were popular personalities, who loves Bulgaria and who appreciate Bulgarian art. There were also journalists and Bulgarian media.

• Danube Festival in Ulm town, Germany

On the 29th of August, year 2010 Teodosii Spasov and the choir of The Great Voices of Bulgaria with their conductor Ilia Myhailov presented their new combine musical project, which was supported by the Bulgarian Musical Society on the Danube Festival in Ulm town, Germany. In this project are included extemporizes on the traditional Bulgarian folklore and authorship works.
