Nikolay Petrov

Nikolay Petrov was born in Sopot, Central Bulgaria in 1957.

He graduated from the National Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Wladigeroff” in the class of opera singing, specializing in operetta and musical. Later, he did his Masters degree in opera and scene performing arts directing.

Since 1982 he is soloist of the State Musical Theatre “Stefan Makedonsky”. Over 90 roles in opera, operetta, and musicals, such as: Eugene Onegin, The Virgin of Orleans, Flidermaus, The Merry Widow, The Beautiful Elena, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, Evita, My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly ect.

Since 1988 soloist of the internationally acclaimed choir The Great Voices of Bulgaria under the conductorship of Zdravko and Ilia Mihaylov. Nicolay Petrov has sung in Europe, Australia, Asia and North America. The musical critics in those countries have priced very highly his bass- baritone voice.

In his free time Nikolay Petrov is an avid martial arts fan, practicing Karate.
