The Honorary chairman of Bulgarian Musical Society – Academician Vassil Kazandjiev was awarded with the annual state award “Saint Paisius of Hilendar”

The Honorary chairman of Bulgarian Musical Society – Academician Vassil Kazandjiev was awarded with the annual state award “Saint Paisius of Hilendar” 2015, presented by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.  The official ceremony held at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria. The award is given to Academician Vassil Kazandjiev for his outstanding contribution to the development of national cultural identity and spiritual values.

He was selected by a jury with a foreman Academican Stefan Vodenicharov – president of BAS, and members – Professor Lubomir Halachev – Rector of NATFA, Professor Svetoslav Kokalov – Rector of National Academy of Arts, Professor Boryana Hristova – Director of St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library, Professor Krasimir Petrov – Rector of University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Professor Margarita Vaklinova – BAS member, and composer and conductor Professor Plamen Djurov.

The annual state award “Saint Paisius of Hilendar” is awarded to stimulate Bulgarian artists and works, related with Bulgarian history and traditions.
